Witnesses to fatal pedestrian crash sought by Gilroy police

(KRON) — The Gilroy Police Department is looking for video or witnesses following a fatal collision Tuesday night where a motorcyclist struck a man.

GPD said patrol officers and firefighters arrived in the area of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Ballybunion Drive just before 8 p.m. to investigate reports of a person down.

Gilroy police said officers located a 53-year-old motorcyclist with minor injuries and a 61-year-old male pedestrian with major injuries down in the roadway. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, said police.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The identity of the victim has not been released.
