Vacant building fire leads to investigation in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A vacant building was destroyed following a fire in Fresno, the city’s fire department said.

It happened on the 1400 block of North Blackstone Avenue on Tuesday night, near Tower District. Crews say they arrived to smoke and flames coming from a vacant building, and declared it a working fire.

According to crews, 28 firefighters kept the fire from spreading to a neighboring building; however, the building was completely engulfed in flames and was declared a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
