TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The discovery of a body in Terrebonne Parish has led to the arrest of two suspects.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Office, around 11 p.m. on July 4, deputies responded to a call of a “lifeless” man found on side of the road in the 5800 block of Bayouside Drive.
Deputies pronounced the man dead on the scene and detectives with the TPSO Violent Crimes Division were called. They confirmed that the victim reportedly suffered a drug overdose.
The investigation led detectives to link 29-year-old Keith Allen Myers and 24-year-old Brinkley Elizabeth Dantin to the victim, claiming the man was provided heroin which allegedly caused the overdose.
Evidence was later found that supported the allegation of Meyers and Dantin removing the man from their vehicle leaving him on side of the road where the overdose reportedly happened.
The two were taken into custody in Lafourche Parish, where they are being held on charges unrelated to the case in Terrebonne Parish. Arrest warrants were issued for charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
They are being held on a bond of $1,025,000.
TPSO deputies said they are working with Lafourche Parish authorities to complete the transfer to Terrebonne to face charges.
