New streaming service launched for SWAC sports; features 5 Southern University football games

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) created a new streaming platform to offer content from sporting events.

SWAC TV will broadcast all 18 SWAC-sponsored sports, including preseason, regular season, postseason, and sports talk shows. The free add-on will be available on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Google Play, and Android TV on Aug. 1.

“The debut of SWAC TV is undoubtedly a game-changer for the Southwestern Athletic Conference,” said SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland. “For the first time in history, our fans and supporters will have a high-quality, technologically advanced streaming platform solely dedicated to broadcasting live events and delivering high-definition on-demand league content.”

SWAC TV will make its live streaming debut during week one of the 2025 football season on Saturday, Aug. 30.

A total of 45 league games are scheduled to stream on SWAC TV, according to officials.
