Fire off I-205 causes brief closure as smoke blew into highway

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A wildland fire just off Interstate 205 is causing smoke to blow into the highway as firefighters work to put out the blaze Thursday afternoon.

Crews responded to 300 SE 97th Avenue around 3:20 p.m. to manage threats to local structures, but later reported that no structures were in danger.

The fire caused brief closures of the nearby MAX train, I-205 and I-84 in the area of East 97th Avenue and Burnside Street.
