Maurice Christopher, 28, was taken into custody after an investigation that began in May. Detectives began the investigation after homeowners reported missing items from their properties and storage sheds.
He was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on multiple charges, including:
His bond was set at $95,000. So far, detectives have recovered about $1,000 worth of stolen property and continue to search for more items.
Christopher is also facing an additional felony theft charge for a separate investigation. Deputies began looking into a theft reported in June involving the disappearance of multiple fuel delivery elbows, also known as “drop guns,” from a local business.
Detectives determined that several drop guns had been stolen from delivery trailers over several months and later sold to a nearby recycling facility. Christopher was identified as the suspect and booked on the new charge, with another $25,000 added to his bond.
He remains in custody at the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center.
