Across Santa Clara, another 49 jobs were cut at the company’s two Bowers Avenue locations, along with 13 at Laurelwood Road. At the company’s two facilities on Santa Clara’s Juliette Lane, another 287 jobs were cut, bringing the total number of Bay Area layoffs to 736.
Intel also laid off an additional 344 workers at its Folsom facility in Sacramento County. The layoffs, which went into effect Tuesday, were all permanent according to the EDD filing.
Layoffs at Intel have been coming in fast and thick. Just last week, Intel cut over 400 Bay Area jobs and another 184 in Sacramento County. Those job cuts followed two earlier rounds of layoffs this summer.
At the beginning of July, Intel cut 110 Bay Area jobs, following an earlier round of 107 job cuts in Santa Clara back in June.
The ongoing waves of layoffs at Intel come amid reports that CEO Lip-Bu Tan recently told employees, “We are not in the top 10 semiconductor companies” anymore.
