Changes made to admission costs for Baton Rouge’s Liberty Lagoon

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — BREC announced new information about its operational updates and pricing at Liberty Lagoon in Baton Rouge.

The agency announced changes to its hours last week, stating that it would have two timed admission sessions daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3-7 p.m. The one hour break in between sessions is for cleaning and to allow workers to take a break.

BREC had announced on July 11 that a $2 discount would be available for those who buy tickets online. On Tuesday, the agency said no discounts would be applied moving forward. Pricing changes went from $12 at the door to $6 per session, and a $12 ticket offered for full-day admission.

“We sincerely apologize for the confusion and appreciate the public’s understanding as we implement these necessary adjustments,” said BREC Interim Superintendent Janet Simmons. “These changes are designed to support the well-being of our staff and maintain a safe, enjoyable experience for all Liberty Lagoon guests.”

Anyone who bought one-session tickets for $12 from July 11-14 will get a $6 refund per ticket.

This operational revision takes effect on Wednesday, July 16.
