Police said on August 24th, 2020, Nicholas Clark, Jr., 23, along with his father, Nicholas Clark, Sr, 44, and Gene Wheeler (then 25), beat a man unconscious at the club, then located at 1609 S. Alpine Road.
The victim was diagnosed as suffering from severe blunt force trauma to the head, according to the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
On Monday, Clark Jr. accepted a negotiated plea for a guilty verdict of aggravated battery, with charges of attempted murder dismissed, in exchange for a sentence of 5 years in prison.
Clark Sr. accepted a plea deal on the charge of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, with other charges against him dismissed. He was sentenced to 2 years’ probation on Monday, July 7th.
Wheeler faces attempted murder and aggravated battery charges, and is due to appear in court on September 4th.
