BATON ROUGE, La. (WGNO) — LA Wallet is now acceptable nationwide in federal buildings, courthouses and Transportation and Security Administration checkpoints, according to Gov. Jeff Landry’s office.

LA wallet is an app that allows Louisiana residents to carry a mobile version of their driver’s license and state identification.

According to the governor’s office, the Transportation and Security Administration certified that LA Wallet is compliant with federal requirements, allowing Louisiana residents to use the app as ID nationwide for the next three years. In 2028 the TSA will review LA Wallet again to ensure it remains compliant.

“We are thrilled to see Louisiana utilizing innovative technology to allow for a more flexible and accessible TSA experience,” said Adam Stahl, TSA Deputy Administrator.
