Downed Duke Energy transmission line causing thousands of outages in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — About 4,000 people are without power in Huntersville due to a Duke Energy transmission line outage, according to town officials.

The outage started Tuesday morning and is impacting ElectriCities customers. Duke Energy is aware of the issue and they are currently investigating the cause of the outage, officials said.

The outage is reportedly impacting people in the area from Gilead Road to Sam Furr Road. Multiple traffic lights on Gilead Road are also affected by the outage.

“Please use caution if traveling through the area while crews work to restore power,” Huntersville officials said. There is currently no estimate for when power will be restored.
