CCBOE adding 5 First-Class Pre-K classrooms this fall

CULLMAN,

Ala. — Cullman County Schools is adding additional Pre-K classroom space to the district, thanks to state grants as part of the First Class PreK program. Governor Kay Ivey announced the grant winners on Friday. Cullman County Schools is proud to gain five additional classrooms.

Two of the classrooms will be at Hanceville Primary. This will be the first time Hanceville has been able to host a Pre-K, due to previous spacing issues. With the renovation of classroom space at Hanceville Elementary, more room is now available to serve the Hanceville community. Welti, Harmony, and Good Hope Primary will also be gaining an additional Pre-K classroom.

“I am very excited about Cullman County Schools receiving these grants for additional Pre-K classrooms,” said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School Superintendent. “These additional five classrooms are simply the next step in a much broader strategic plan for our school system to be able to offer all of our families free access to quality PreK programs across the county. Space and funding is always a challenge. As more funding becomes available we will continue to request additional Pre-K classrooms.”
