Trading texting for feathers and ink at French Quarter summer camp

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — At BK House & Gardens, built in 1826, summer camp kids learn how to not text.

That’s right. There’s no need for it, according to WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood.

That’s because the kids from the Salvation Army Summer Camp are turning back to a time before texting.

Write with a feather and ink.

That’s what these summer campers are experiencing at a field trip to BK House & Gardens.

The house was built in 1826.

That means almost 100 years of history sit in the house and the gardens.

Now, in the hands of these New Orleans summer camping kids.
