The victim’s identity has not been released as of Monday morning.

Prior to the officers’ arrival, the driver fled the scene in their vehicle, according to police. Authorities said they found the involved vehicle and arrested the suspect a short time later.

Oakland PD believes that alcohol may have played a factor in the fatal hit-and-run.
