Man arrested after leading officers on chase from Charlotte to South Carolina

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been arrested after leading officers on a chase from Charlotte to Indian Land, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before noon on Monday, July 14, CMPD officers were pursuing a driver who entered Lancaster County on Highway 521 in the Indian Land area.

The man almost drove to Lancaster on Hwy 521 before making a U-turn and driving north. Officials said he then turned left off Hwy 521 onto a side road and cut through a field to Hwy 5. The pursuit ended shortly after at Hwy 5 and Old Concord Road when a trooper used stop strips.

The man jumped from the car and tried to run before he was apprehended. Police said he was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved.

The driver is described as a young man who was not identified. He was taken to the Lancaster County Detention Center, where charges are pending.
