“Students from Caddo, Bossier, and surrounding areas will receive free backpacks and supplies needed for the upcoming school year,” a press release stated. “The goal of the giveaway is to help ease the financial burden of the new school year for parents and to help students feel more confident when they return to class with the necessary supplies.”
The event will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Ave. in Shreveport. A child must be present for parents to receive a backpack and supplies.
