CPD: Woman killed in South Loop car vs. pedestrian crash, driver in custody
CHICAGO (WGN) — A woman is dead after being hit by an SUV in the South Loop Sunday morning.

According to the Chicago Police Department, a 35-year-old woman was driving eastbound in the 800 block of West Roosevelt Road around 6:40 a.m. when she hit a 69-year-old woman walking in the street.

The 69-year-old woman was pronounced dead after police and firefighters arrived on scene of the crash.

Police have the 35-year-old woman in custody and charges are pending.

CPD’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit is leading the investigation. No other information is available at this time.
