7-year-old injured in South Side Fourth of July hit-and-run; Police searching for driver

CHICAGO — Chicago police are searching for the driver who struck a seven-year-old child on the city’s South Side and kept going on the Fourth of July.

The hit-and-run happened just before 9 p.m. on July 4 in the 800 block of East Marquette Road, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Investigators say the child was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound. The car was a dark, four-door SUV, possibly a Lincoln Corsair, which may have front-end damage on the passenger side.
