KOK Wings & Things expanding to new location in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) KOK Wings & Things will be expanding into a new location.

Founded in 2016 by four college students, the brand has continued to grow into multiple locations and cities. This expansion will continue as the company will be moving into the former Hooters location at 3221 Ambassador Caffery Parkway. Tre’Jan Vinson, CMO and Co-founder of KOK Wings and Things, shared the restaurant’s journey on expansion.

“We signed a lease at the beginning of June, but we have been going back and forth about this location since the end of last year,” Vinson said. “The restaurant itself is already designed to serve majority wings.”

They believe this new location will benefit the business greatly, especially with it being in a higher volume area.

“With this being our sixth location, we want to do something that we haven’t done yet, which is to go on as people would say a ‘hot corner’,” Vinson said. “There’s a Costco right down the street, Sam’s Club is right across the street, and it has a lot of big box stores on that corner. This will be our first location in such a situation, right next to Acadiana Lanes,” he explained.

Vinson is proud of the expansion KOK Wings and Things has had in the last nine years. They hope to have the new location up and running by late this year.

“We plan on opening this Fall or Winter, but somewhere between September and November,” Vinson explained. “The earlier the better, obviously, we want to get to the brunt of football season, but nonetheless, that’s the goal of the moving day.”

Vinson said the growing is not done if he has anything to say about it.

“We’re trying to grow, I would love to go to Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, wherever it may be.” Vinson said.
