Elderly woman robbed in Center City, police searching for suspect

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Police are searching for the person accused of pushing and robbing an elderly woman in Center City last month.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, around 11:25 a.m., a woman riding a bicycle pushed an 81-year-old woman to the ground and grabbed her bag. Police say after the suspect fled, she took $100 from the bag, dropped it, and then got away.

The 81-year-old woman was injured with a bruised forehead.

Police are looking for the woman pictured above. If seen, police are telling the public not to approach and to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Chamberlain with the Central Detective at 215-686-3093/3094. Tips can also be submitted online or by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477). All tips will be confidential.
