Baton Rouge police investigating shooting near MJ’s Food Mart
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man was shot in the stomach Wednesday night in Baton Rouge after a transaction went wrong between two people, police confirmed.
The victim was shot around 8:45 p.m. outside MJ’s Food Mart, located at 1357 Florida Street.
Police say the suspect began shooting at the victim’s car, hitting him in the stomach.
The male victim was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by personal vehicle with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Officials say no suspect is in custody and the shooting is under investigation.
