Suspects in violent San Jose vehicle burglaries arrested

(KRON) — Two suspects wanted in connection with multiple shootings in San Jose that took place while the pair burglarized vehicles have been arrested, the San Jose Police Department announced Wednesday.

Mynnor Ramos-Martinez and Cesar Lopez-Martinez, both 28 years old from Oakland, were allegedly stealing work tools from a vehicle in San Jose on May 2 at 3:42 a.m. when they were confronted by a man. One of the suspects fired at least one shot at the man before fleeing with the tools, investigators said.

Prior to the burglary, the duo stole a vehicle that same morning, according to SJPD.

On May 25, Ramos-Martinez and Lopez-Martinez again broke into two vehicles at a San Jose residence and stole work tools, police alleged. When a man confronted the two during the burglary, one of the suspects shot at the victim.

Detectives arrested both Ramos-Martinez and Lopez-Martinez in Oakland on June 24. Evidence of the crimes, including various stolen tools, was located during a search of associated residences, SJPD said.

The two were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and vehicle theft.
