San Jose police arrest suspected burglars in stolen vehicle chase

(KRON) — Two suspected burglars were arrested after a police chase in San Jose on Monday, authorities said.

San Jose Police Department officers responded to a report involving a stolen vehicle and two suspects allegedly responsible for several burglaries and “numerous prior incidents” of evading authorities. SJPD’s Air 3 helicopter assisted in locating the stolen vehicle.

Police said the stolen vehicle was observed being driven recklessly before officers on the ground attempted a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle fled to downtown San Jose and was followed overhead by Air 3, according to SJPD.

The fleeing vehicle attempted to park in an underground parking garage, authorities said. Air 3 directed the ground officers to the vehicle location, where the two suspects were taken into custody.

“Burglary tools and other evidence were located implicating the suspects in at least one burglary,” San Jose police said. “Although an arrest has been made, this investigation is active and ongoing.”
