PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Special Olympics Oregon is returning to Oregon State University and surrounding communities on July 12-13, 2025 for its annual Summer State Games.

The weekend serves as the state championships for Special Olympics athletes in Oregon across a number of sports including track & field, bocce, golf, and softball. Athletes typically train for a minimum of eight weeks at home and advance through regional-level competitions around the state.

There are also a number of events going on around the campus of OSU to celebrate including Olympic Town festival areas, health screenings, Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg, opening ceremonies, a victory dance, and a Saturday night delegates dinner.
