Arkansas Storm Team Blog: July full moon Thursday

Our next full moon is coming up this week on Thursday July 10th. July’s full moon is also called the Buck Moon. It gets the name Buck Moon because this is the time of year when male deer begin to grow their new set of antlers.

The Buck Moon will peak Thursday July, 10th at 3:36 PM. While you won’t really be able to see the moon at that time, moonrise happens at 8:48 PM Thursday night, and then it will be visible.

The forecast looks mostly clear for Thursday night, so viewing conditions should be favorable. Our next full moon will be August 9th and called the Sturgeon Moon.
