Man arrested, accused of 2022 deadly shooting in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man was arrested on Tuesday after a 2022 shooting that left one man dead.

According to the Baton Rouge Police, Demetrius Parker, 23, was arrested for the involvement in the shooting death of Delta Hunt, 30.

Around June 13, 2022, BRPD detectives were called to the 10000 block of Avenue L about a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Hunt with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital but later died of his injuries.

Parker was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.

Another suspect, Deondrae Green, 28, was arrested in July 2023.
