Dozens of firefighters respond to house struck by lightning
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A house caught fire after it was reportedly struck by lightning during Tuesday afternoon’s storms in Montgomery County.

Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), said about 65 firefighters were at the scene of the home on Amity Drive, which was likely struck by lightning around 5 p.m.

Piringer posted a photo of heavy smoke coming from the home.

At the time, temperatures were in the mid-80s, and the weather was extremely humid with scattered storms.
