The donation drive began on July 6, 2025. The effort has drawn volunteers from across the county, who are sorting donations including bottled water, pet food, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies. Pallets of donated goods are being loaded and shipped to affected areas, including San Saba and Kerr counties, with more deliveries expected.
“Initially, when we started, we were looking for anything and everything, because in times like this, that’s what’s needed,” said Jim Snyder, a lieutenant in emergency management with Morgan’s Point Resort Fire Rescue. “As time has gone on, the requests from down in that area have kind of changed,”
Snyder said the focus has shifted from food and water to cleaning supplies such as brooms, gloves, and buckets. In addition to the main drop-off site at Belton Feed and Supply, donations are also being accepted at Bold Republic Brewing Company and the Morgan’s Point Resort Fire Department.
The Belton Independent School District’s FFA program is collecting gift cards, which can be dropped off at the agriculture departments at Belton High School or Lake Belton High School.
“It’s heartwarming. It really is,” Snyder said. “It kind of restores your faith in humanity again.” Organizers express gratitude for the overwhelming community response and encourage continued support as flood recovery efforts progress. All types of donations — from food and hygiene products to gift cards and cleaning supplies — are welcome.
