Flood Relief Drive Coming to an End

BELTON, Texas (FOX 44) — In the wake of recent flooding across Central Texas, the Belton Feed and Supply Store has turned into a hub of hope.

In partnership with several Bell County organizations and businesses, the store has been hosting a flood relief drive since July 5, 2025— bringing neighbors together to help neighbors.

Ima Miller, a local veteran and donation drive volunteer, says this is what it means to be a Texan.

“What has happened to our Texas family is heartbreaking. So it makes everybody want to come out and be a part, and give back to our community, especially those that are in need. So that’s why I’m here. That’s what led me to come to get up early in the morning, stay out late in the evening,” Miller said.

Over the last several days, Miller and many other volunteers from all over Bell County have folded clothes, sorted food, and packed cleaning supplies — anything and everything to help families impacted by flooding.

“It is really a blessing to be able to support them,” she added.

Throughout the week, neighbors have donated everything you could think of to assist. Today, the Moffat fire department and a Girl Scout troop from Lubbock, Texas, came with truckloads of donated items.

Belton Feed Supply store officials say while today was their last day accepting donations, they will continue to organize and palletize tomorrow.

Brandy Kidd, another volunteer, expressed that it’s the items you don’t always think of that can make the biggest difference for flood victims.

“Things that we’re needing specifically are like hand tools, shovels, rakes,” she said. “Chainsaws or manpower with chainsaws. Such things as Band-Aids, antibacterial anti-itch, sunscreen — the things you think of. Like if I were to take my kid camping, they scrape his knee — what would you have available?”

Kidd isn’t just donating supplies — she’s also using her own vehicle to help deliver them to communities in need.

“I have a truck that has four-wheel drive. And even if I can’t get it directly into the city, I can at least get it close enough that someone can get it there,” she said.

With more than 30 pallets of donated items, this Central Texas community is proving that when disaster strikes, Texans show up.
