Church Point Police responded just before 8 p.m. Monday to a report of an unidentified victim at the Acadia St. Landry Hospital who was killed by a single gunshot wound, authorities said.
Police said the shooting took place in the 600 block of North Wilson Street in Church Point, and a person of interest has been identified.
No other information was released.
