The Arkansas State Omnium Cycling Championship will pit competitors across three types of bicycle competitions: a time trial, a road race, and a criterium, or closed-course, race. The event is slated to take place in Conway.
Omnium is the name of a multi-event bicycle race.
Organizers said the time trial will take place on Friday, July 11, the road race on Saturday, July 12 and the criterium on Sunday, June 13.
Entries are open to all categories and age groups, ranging from 9 years old to 70-plus, organizers said, with an emphasis on junior races. They said the public is invited to cheer, volunteer and support racers as they compete.
Course lengths are adjusted based on age and rider qualifications.
The event is sanctioned by USA Cycling and hosted by a coalition of local teams and clubs.
