Invented in Cuba but embraced by Louisiana, the daiquiri is now a New Orleans essential—especially when served frozen, fruity and straight from a drive-thru window. Celebrate one of Louisiana’s favorite cocktails with these refreshing offerings.

You can’t make a list about daiquiris without including this iconic shop. According to the New Orleans Original Daiquiris website, there are over 50 locations across Louisiana, with over a dozen in the Greater New Orleans area. The shop has many unique flavors, such as banana banshee and hypnotic chill.

Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar

Lafitte’s is the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States, according to its website. Yelp reviewers praise its “dark, mysterious” ambiance and signature Purple Voodoo Daiquiri, which is grape-flavored with Everclear and bourbon.

This bar lounge celebrates New Orleans culture with juke box music and specialty daiquiris. The shop, which one Yelp reviewer described as “overflowing with coolness,” allows customers to combine several flavors to create their ideal daiquiri.

Melba’s
