According to the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began earlier in the day, at the Ingles in Burnsville. The suspect, Linc Nolan Bloomfield, of Texas, was considered “armed and dangerous” but is now in custody.
As of Monday afternoon, Avery County deputies believed the suspect is in the Powdermill Creek area. This is about 10 miles west of Newland.
“Please call 911 immediately if you see this person. Please do not approach him. He is considered armed and dangerous,” the Avery County sheriff’s office wrote in a post.
Bloomfield will be facing multiple charges, the Yancey County sheriff said.
More details regarding the incident and charges will be released as the investigation continues.
