2 critical in Humboldt Park shooting, CPD says

CHICAGO (WGN) — Two males are in critical condition following a shooting late Tuesday morning in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the 600 block of M. Monticello Ave. There, police say a 28-year-old male and a 35-year-old male were standing outside when a grey vehicle pulled up, four people exited with firearms and opened fire.

Police say the 28-year-old was shot multiple times in the head and body. Paramedics rushed him to John H. Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The 35-year-old was also shot multiple times and rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

CPD reported no further injuries.

The offenders fled the scene, and no one is in custody.
