They rode around in a Chevrolet Corvette and talked for a segment on Bleacher Report’s “Taking Laps” series.
Dale Jr. reached speeds of 120 mph behind the wheel, and with one minute left before they had to get off the track, the former NASCAR driver told Nabers he was “going to crank it up a little bit.”
At some point during the video, he told the current New York Giants wide receiver, “Let’s see if we can do 130.” Nabers proceeded to give Dale Jr. the side eye and make the sign of the cross.
During the drive around the track, Dale Jr. told Nabers about his driving career, as well as his family’s history, including that of his grandfather and famous father, Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
The duo also discussed Nabers’ NFL career, including his “welcome to the NFL” moment. The former LSU wide receiver said that it came in week two of his rookie season against the Washington Commanders.
Nabers said, “I ran like a shallow. It was like 3rd and 4, I think, 3rd and 5, I ran a shallow, I caught the ball, and I was going up the field on the right sideline, and one of the linebackers, he came and hit me.”
The former LSU great will begin his second season against that same team.
The Giants are scheduled to start their regular season against the Commanders on Sunday, Sept. 7.
