BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — July 3, 2025 — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a passenger vehicle Thursday afternoon at the intersection of West Second Street and Landmark Avenue in Bloomington.
The crash occurred around 12:48 p.m., prompting a heavy response from local police, firefighters, and medical personnel. West Second Street was shut down for several hours as investigators worked the scene.
First responders issued a trauma alert for the motorcyclist, who was reported to be in critical condition over emergency radio traffic. The Bloomington Police Department has not yet released official details about the crash or the identities of those involved.
A helmet was seen lying in the roadway near the wreckage. Several bystanders told The Bloomingtonian they heard the crash but did not witness the impact.
Later in the afternoon, a wrecker removed the damaged motorcycle from the scene. Bloomington firefighters washed down the roadway and debris were cleaned up before the street was reopened to traffic.
