LOUISIANA (KLFY) — Agents of Attorney General Liz MurrilL’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation have made another arrest for juvenile pornography involving children under the age of 13. The latest case out of New Iberia is part of a decisive, coordinated crackdown.

A supervisory special agent with the state’s bureau of investigation explained that these arrests do not indicate the presence of more alleged offenders, but rather reflect an increased collaboration among law enforcement.

The most recent arrest of accused Traelan Jordan Briscoe, 24, of New Iberia includes 10 counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.

“What our goals are is to make Louisiana a safer place for our children, and now that law enforcement is coming together and working in unison, you are going to start seeing an increase in arrests,” Masters said.

The AG’s office reported Briscoe is the fourth such arrest in Acadiana in just the past two days.

A supervisory special agent from the state’s investigation bureau, Chris Masters, said Briscoe’s arrest is the result of a collaboration with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“I don’t think you’re seeing an increase in offenders. I think these offenders have always been here, but you’re seeing an increase in arrests because of the mutual response from law enforcement,” Masters stated. “We were able to see through law enforcement that everybody got a narcotics division, everybody has a traffic division, and we started saying this should be a priority as well, and we had a great response from our law enforcement partners. The direct result is the amount of arrests we’re making now.”
