
“We’ve received a report through our hotline about a possible ICE sighting this afternoon at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara,” the network wrote. “Our responders are currently on site investigating.”
However, the network added that as of yet, the presence of ICE at the stadium ahead of the match “has NOT been confirmed.”
Rumors and concerns about ICE agents have been rampant across the country this summer as the United States plays host to two major international soccer tournaments, The Gold Cup and the Club World Cup. Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum went as far as to publicly call for no ICE action at Gold Cup matches.
Thus far, there have been no confirmed reports of ICE agents arresting fans at soccer matches in either tournament.
