SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to a grass fire burning near Ensign Peak.
Salt Lake City Fire Department posted on social media that they were working a grass fire Near Ensign Peak, but as of around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the fire is under control.
According to the fire department, crews are going to remain on the scene for the next hour, mopping up the fire.
Mopping up a fire means that they are extinguishing the fire or removing burning material to make the fire safer and reduce smoke.
The fire department requested that the public avoid the Ensign Peak area if possible.
