COVINGTON, La. (WGNO) — In the beefy business of being a butcher, one Louisiana man’s steady hands, sharp mind and even sharper set of knives deliver at dinner time, and pretty much all the time.
He is Daniel Rivera.
And at Texas Roadhouse in Covington, WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood says he is slicing up another successful year.
For the third year, Rivera won the grand prize at the National Meat Cutting Challenge.
With the top trophy comes a check for $25,000.
Rivera says he’ll save the money.
He got the award for slicing 30 pounds of beef the fastest and the best, making him America’s No. 1 meat butcher.
