Shreveport, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — At approximately 2:46 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Caddo 911 Dispatch received a call about a residential structure fire in the 3000 block of Darien Street.

The caller, identified as the property owner, reported that his one-story, wood-framed home, which was believed to be vacant, was engulfed in smoke and flames.

Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) was able to arrive on the scene at 2:48 PM. Upon arrival, responders quickly observed the smoke and flames and initiated offensive and defensive tactics to suppress the flames.

9 SFD units and 27 fire personnel worked tirelessly to control the fire. Due to deteriorating structural conditions, Battalion Chief Floyd Seamster ordered a shift to a full defensive attack to ensure the safety of responding crews.

The fire was successfully contained without any reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under further investigation.
