One killed after 18-wheeler overturns in Clinton

CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was killed after an 18-wheeler overturned on Interstate 20 in Clinton.

The crash occurred on I-20 West near the Springridge Road exit early Wednesday morning. All lanes of I-20 West have been blocked at the location.

According to Clinton police, emergency personnel and law enforcement responded to the scene to manage the investigation. Crews are also working to clear the roadway.

Clinton police estimate that it will take three hours before the interstate can reopen. Drivers should expect significant delays.

Westbound traffic is being diverted to Highway 18, and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and allow for additional travel time.
