On July 1, multiple law enforcement agencies executed three search warrants: one at a game room in Archer County on Highway 281, just south of the county line; another at an apartment off Maurine Street in Wichita Falls; and the last at a home in Lubbock.
Archer County Sheriff Jack Curd said $15,000 in cash, two vehicles, and 31 machines were confiscated between the three locations.
Curd added that the people operating the game room were from China and were returning the money to that country.
The Wichita Falls Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Game Wardens, 97th District Attorney Officials, and the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office were all a part of the nearly year-long investigation, according to Curd.
As of publication, officials had not released the identities of the nine arrested.
