(KRON) — Cotati Police Department officers allegedly found more than 70 empty Bud Light cans while searching a DUI suspect’s SUV Sunday night.
The driver was struggling to stay in one lane when he was stopped, the Cotati Police Department said. During the traffic stop, officers noticed an open beer can in the SUV’s cupholder.
A field sobriety test allegedly showed that the man was driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.25% — more than three times the legal limit. The driver was arrested for DUI and driving with a suspended license. Their license was suspended from a previous DUI charge, CPD said.
“Once the driver was arrested, a search of the inside of his car was completed, and over 70 empty beer cans were located,” CPD said. “We want to remind everyone that drinking and driving is not worth it! The outcome could have been much worse had our officers not stopped the driver.”
