STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said a teenager was arrested and charged after using counterfeit money to pay his restaurant bill.
SCSO said deputies were called to an IHOP, located at 10 Simpson Road, on June 27 at around 3 a.m. after 18-year-old Prince Prescott tried to use a fake $100 bill to pay for his food order.
When staff examined the bill, SCSO said they discovered that the watermark was Alexander Hamilton, who is the Treasury Secretary on the $10 bill.
SCSO said Prescott was charged with uttering a counterfeit bill and possession of a counterfeit bill.
