(KRON) — An Oakland attorney was arrested on June 20 for trying to sneak contraband into the Solano County Jail, according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, 53-year-old Christopher Dobbins of Oakland, was arrested following an “extensive investigation,” the Solano County Sheriff’s Office said. The alleged contraband was seized before reaching inmates.
“Sheriff’s Office personnel executed a targeted operation based on credible intelligence indicating illegal activity,” SCSO said.
The arrest was part of a joint operation between the SCSO Gang Intelligence Unit, Investigations Bureau, and Sheriff’s Enforcement Team. Solano County Sheriff Thomas Ferrara said that the investigation addressed a “serious breach” within the county jail.
“The Solano County Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in our commitment to maintaining the safety and security of our facilities,” Ferrara said. “This operation underscores our zero-tolerance policy for any attempts to undermine the integrity of our justice system.”
SCSO did not say what kind of contraband was stopped from entering the jail. The investigation is ongoing.
