(KRON) — A sneaker thief stole nearly 50 pairs of shoes from an outlet mall in Livermore before police found the suspect hiding behind a church, according to the Livermore Police Department.
A mall security guard alerted police that a man was seen running away with shopping bags full of merchandise on June 24. The thief darted into a BMW driven by a second suspect, police said.
“Mall security attempted to speak with the occupants of the vehicle before it drove off. Officers quickly located the vehicle parked behind a nearby church,” LPD wrote.
Inside the BMW, officers found 28 pairs of stolen Nike shoes, 12 pairs of New Balance shoes, and eight pairs of Skechers shoes. In total, the shoes had an estimated value of nearly $6,000, police said.
Livermore police arrested 30-year-old Jordy Rojasventuro of Los Angeles for organized retail theft. The second suspect was identified by LPD as 34-year-old Deigo Davilajimenez.
