DALLAS (KDAF) — A new taste of Louisiana flavor is arriving in Dallas! Opening Monday, July 7 in Preston Center, The PoBoy Shop brings Louisiana soul and Cajun flair to the city’s fast-casual scene. From the team behind Highland Park’s beloved Evan’s Meat Market, this sandwich joint is a full-flavored tribute to Louisiana culture, served with a Texas edge.
Born from high demand at Evan’s Meat Market, the concept is led by Lafayette native Evan Meagher, who’s channeling his roots with authentic po’boy bread sourced straight from Langlinais Baking Company in Louisiana. The result? Delicious sandwiches built on crackly French loaves and loaded with premium house-prepared meats, scratch-made sauces, and toppings.
The menu features hot and cold po’boys (including fried shrimp, pastrami, cauliflower bang bang, and a build-your-own option), classic Louisiana sides, composed salads, and a true muffuletta stacked with meats, cheese, and tangy giardiniera. The Cajun curly fries can be “Made Dirty” with griddled boudin, jalapeños, and melty cheese. The menu is available for download here.
Guests can cool off with house-brewed iced tea or “Swamp Water,” a cucumber-mint refresher, and sip small-batch sodas from Dallas-based Oak Cliff Beverage Works made with real Louisiana cane sugar.
Inside, the 1,200-square-foot space has familiar touches like a butcher block and Louisiana-inspired design. With open-kitchen views and indoor and patio seating, The PoBoy Shop is built for both quick lunches and laid-back bites. Online ordering, delivery, and catering services are coming soon.
