Popular coffee chain undergoing major expansion

You may have spotted a blue windmill on the side of the road, beckoning with bold drinks like the “Annihilator” (espresso and chocolate macadamia nut), the “Double Torture” (extra double shot of espresso, vanilla, and chocolate milk), and the “Cocomo” (espresso, coconut, and chocolate milk).

That windmill marks the growing presence of Dutch Bros Coffee — and yes, the windmill is part of the brand.

Founded in 1992, Dutch Bros is currently undergoing a major expansion. According to QSR Magazine, which tracks trends in the quick-service restaurant industry, the company aims to reach 2,029 locations by the year 2029. That means opening 200 new stores every year for the next several years.

If you’re on the West Coast — especially in Southern California — you may have already seen Dutch Bros locations popping up in places like Barstow, Apple Valley, Victorville, Baldwin Park, La Habra, Covina, Fountain Valley, Palmdale, and more.

Now, get ready for even more. This week, Dutch Bros is opening a new location in Garden Grove at 9901 Westminster Ave. It will serve all the fan favorites, plus a festive new drink: the Firecracker Rebel, topped with blue popping candy just in time for the Fourth of July.

Dutch Bros is also hiring across the region for broistas, support staff, and more.

While it still has a long way to go to catch up with giants like Starbucks and Dunkin’, Dutch Bros has something special — momentum, and a windmill, at its back.
