
ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) — An Alexandria man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly firing a gun inside a convenience store on 3rd Street, police said.
Officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded around 10:30 p.m. to the 3700 block of 3rd Street after receiving reports of a shooting inside the store. Police said they located and arrested the suspected shooter, identified as 48-year-old Glendell Wesley.
Wesley is charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, negligent carry of a concealed handgun, possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm with drugs, and resisting an officer.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
